We have been getting a lot of messages from people who would like to know more about the chants sung at Portland Timbers matches. So I figured we would put together a quick guide to the chants.
First off the latest Timbers Army Chant Sheet can be downloaded and printed out here.
If you don’t have a printer don’t worry you can always pick up the chant sheet at the Timbers match at Jeld Wen Field. Timbers Army volunteers run an informational table in the concourse of each match near the entrance to section 107. There you can ask questions and pick up a free chant sheet. The table is staffed by friendly volunteers before the match, at halftime and post match to help you.

The Timbers Army will sing the national anthem on Thursday and it will be televised on ESPN. The TA has been singing the national anthem for years and now it is just a bit more official. Thursday is getting more exciting by the minute.
I am honored and extremely pleased to announce to the Timbers Army and the world that the Timbers Army has been selected to sing the United States National Anthem against the Chicago Fire in the inaugural home game at Jeld-Wen Field for the 2011 season.
What does this mean for you? Clear your throats. Drink warm tea with honey. Protect your throats. On Thursday April 14, 2011 you are singing the National Anthem on ESPN.

The Sunshine Trailer was normally parked on 20th & SW Morrison on game days and staffed with kind volunteers selling the finest Timbers Army gear. Unfortunately, on its way to the stadium last Saturday the trailer went kaput and is now no longer with us. Many people volunteered many hours to make the Sunshine Trailer a game day fixture. The trailer was old and it was known that it would someday need to be replaced, but hopes were it would last the rest of this season.
Well Onward Rose City, as the mission to replace the trailer has begun. A commemorative Timbers Army Sunshine Trailer T-Shirt (pictured above) is now available for pre-order for $20. All proceeds after costs will go to the … Read the rest

Anyone who is a Timbers fan and cheers for the team can call themselves a part of the Timbers Army, but there is an official side to the Timbers Army as well, the 107 Independent Supporters’ Trust. 107ist holds elections, votes on issues, coordinates Timbers Army events and works with Portland Timbers management. This is a new venture, for the Timbers Army, but not uncommon amongst big clubs around the world. Independent supporters trusts, help negotiate the common goals between supporters and the the ownership of the club.
The group is “open to anyone who loves soccer, the Timbers, Portland, and, especially, the combination of the three”, and you can become a member for a $20 fee. Membership includes benefits including first dibs on road trip transportation, special 107ist merchandise, and access to member-only events.
