Dropping Timber strives to provide the most complete, professional, and entertaining Portland Timbers coverage on a daily basis.

The blog was started in 2008 by Paul Eisl, Kevin Fong, and Dan P – three long-time friends and long-time Portland residents who hoped to contribute and help spread the Timber’s community in any way we could. Dropping Timber would like to thank everyone for supporting us and helping us throughout the past few years. We couldn’t possibly put in the work and put up with the late nights if it wasn’t for the support we get from all of you out there.

Dropping Timber serves not only the Timbers and fans like all of us, but we believe in the positive influence that a soccer team and its supporters can have in the community that surrounds it. We truly appreciate all your feedback and your comments, and hope that you continue to help us develop the Dropping Timber community in 2011 and into the future.

Paul is the heart and soul of Dropping Timber and the one of the biggest Timber fans you’ll ever meet.  A soccer junkie, Paul is our daily blogger, responsible for guiding, highlighting, and brightening your Timber news day.  Nothing makes Paul happier than discussing soccer with other fans, watching a good match, and sharing a few beers with other members of the Timber’s community.  Cheers!

Kevin Fong

Dropping Timber’s journalist, reporter, editor, and writing nerd. Kevin’s voice is usually the one you hear asking the questions out on the field, as well as the voice behind many of the site’s more opinionated pieces.  A life-long Portland native and a life-long student of life, Kevin lives for the Blazers, the Beavers, and of course, the Timbers.

Dan Powell

Our web designer, programmer, and all around technical wizard.  Dan is responsible for most of the  number crunching and statistical analysis, basically, the right-brained thinker of the group.  A sports fan and a family man, we can always count on this loving husband and father to give us reliable and swift reporting.

Rizal Sambo

Friends with Paul, Kevin, and Dan from way back as well.  Rizal is the man with the camera, responsible for taking most of the photos, videos, and other media for Dropping Timber. Rizal is a freelance photographer and also does production work for local commercials, films, and television shows.
