Timber Bits – Just a Few Days Left

Timbers Army section sells out.

On Monday, the Timbers reported that Timbers Army Season Tickets had sold out for the 2011 season. That means there’ll be no place to sit in eight full sections of the North End at PGE Park – not that the Army ever sits during a Timbers match anyway. The eight sections, which will spill over into upper-level sections as well, have room for roughly 3,600 fans. About 500 tickets are being set-aside for day-of-game purchase.

Click here for the full press release.

Impressive. We knew it would happen and now I just hope we don’t see TA tickets going for well over face value. Be kind and give, trade, or sell at never higher than face value. As STH please foster the community with kindness not a way to make a quick buck. MLS is here, are you ready? video?

A look at what others are saying about our draft choices and an interview with John Spencer:

WV Hooligan: 2011 MLS SuperDraft Grades and Recap

Thoughts: Nagbe is a steal for them at number 2. But the bigger news for this club has to be the addition of Kenny Cooper. They now have plenty of forwards in their attack and quite honestly they should be fun to watch. Their draft wasn’t anything amazing or spectacular but Nagbe was the best player in most folks opinions and Taylor is a solid defender that will play early on for them. It was a simple and effect draft for John Spencer and company.
WVH Draft Grade: B-

SI: MLS draft: First-round analysis

With Nagbe falling to Portland, the Timbers instantly upgraded their attack. Nagbe, along with soon-to-be-Timber Kenny Cooper, gives John Spencer a nice front line to feed in the team’s expansion season.

2010 Review Part 2 covers the articles we did from April through the end of June. The Timbers started the 2010 campaign red hot, but quickly cooled and went on a 8 game winless streak. The world’s eyes were focused on South Africa and the US managed at the last minute to get out of the group stage.
