U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati announced today that Bob Bradley head coach of the US Men’s National Team was dismissed today.
“We want to thank Bob Bradley for his service and dedication to U.S. Soccer during the past five years,” said Gulati. “During his time as the head coach of our Men’s National Team he led the team to a number of accomplishments, but we felt now was the right time for us to make a change. It is always hard to make these decisions, especially when it involves someone we respect as much as Bob. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
The Dirty Tackle has a list of a list of potential replacements, including Timber Joey and Freddy Adu.

The excellent IMSoccer.com speaks with the equally excellent Tony Mcmanus about his retirement from professional play.
Tony McManus has told IMS that he is retiring from professional soccer. In an interview where he spoke about an incident last month were he was abruptly terminated from his contract by FC Tampa Bay, the 8-year veteran revealed the news.
“I am fully retired from soccer and have no interest in returning. I wish it was a decision I would have made prior to this, but that is hindsight. I am back in Portland trying to figure out what my next step is. I am pursuing work outside of soccer so if you have any kind of contacts in this area I am all ears,” said McManus.
