Well with a 0-2 record the Timbers rest at the bottom of the rankings. The win against Chivas will hopefully help the team get a a solid result against New England on Saturday.This Saturday’s match is the last chnace for the Timbers to get points before their home opener on April 14th.

Power rankings don’t mean much, but they are an interesting way to look at what others are saying about our club. With only one MLS game in the books and a poor first half against Colorado we are being ranked right near the bottom. The only team to rank worse than us overall is this Saturday’s opponent Toronto FC.

I will never understand why the MLS gives 6 of 16 teams a bye week in Week 2. I have decided that a team not playing will not move up or down in the rankings – even though a case could be made for LA to be number one and that DC United be dead last.
