Update: Dropping Timber has word from a high up Timbers source that there is  “no way on Edison.”  The player they are seeking is “much higher caliber.”

According to MLS Rumors, Edison Fonseca is headed to MLS and may be going to Portland. MLS Rumors looks to have caught the story from the SCUSA boards after Daaaave posted about Fonseca.

Fonseca trained with Portland in 2010 and a Twitter user (again this one was first spotted on SCUSA) pointed out this picture of him in Timbers gear (he’s on the right).

Here’s the translated story about Fonseca going to MLS, as well as some information about why the deal might be complicated.
