A Day Full of Soccer

11 July 2010 179 views 2 Comments

It’s a triple header for Portland soccer fans! A Super Soccer Sunday with 3 games scheduled in a row!

11am – World Cup Final: Spain vs Netherlands
Viewing parties all over town. Head to Pioneer Courthouse Square, enjoy the sun, and watch the game on a big, BIG screen. Or check out the Thirsty Lion off 2nd street downtown, where 95.5 the Game will be hosting. Or just watch it from your couch, but bottom line….watch it!

2pm – Timbers U-23 vs Vancouver Whitecaps Residency @ PGE Park
Portland’s U23 team has been dominating the competition and deserves your attention. They’re unbeaten so far this season, winning all 13 matches they’ve played, and lead the league in goals scored with 40 altogether. Tomorrow will be the last scheduled home game for the team and most likely your last chance to see them play. Oh and by the way, here’s a score of a recent U23 match….. A win of course. A 9-0 win against Spokane.

6pm – Portland Timbers vs Club Atlas @ PGE Park
The perfect way to finish off Super Soccer Sunday! Coming off a big win against Miami on Saturday night, many of the Timbers will be taking the evening off against Atlas. However, the match will serve as an opportunity for some of the other Timber players to show what they can do and potentially earn themselves a spot in the regular rotation. Expect a nice crowd and some good weather. It’s going to be a fun night!

your u23 info is a bit dated. we are 13-0 and our last win was a 2-1 win over abbotsford on friday night.
