2010 Portland Timbers Media Day

16 April 2010 633 views 2 Comments

On a sunny morning at PGE Park the Timbers continued their training, and as press and media of all types looked on, the Timbers played an intense little scrimmage, practiced some corners, and blasted some free kicks. Yours truly screwed up the video footage, and so all we have are the pictures below. It’s our second season, so maybe by the third season we will work out the kinks.

One of the highlights today was speaking with the reporters Allison Andrews of Soccer City, USA, and Kip Kesgard of the Oregonian. Strangest part of the day, was hearing the voice of the Timbers John Strong’s voice behind me and I thought someone had switched on a radio. But the best part of the day was seeing a Timbers team that is very hungry to play.

We were a little star struck and picked players old and new at random eventually running short on time. However, it really doesn’t matter who you pick on this roster because from what it looked like today each player is talented, determined and truly enjoying the Rose City. The perfect weather helped as after practice the players mingled with the the 15-20 reporters for interviews and more pictures . The Timbers were in a casual mood, everyone cool and collected, because they know when Saturday comes, Saturday comes.
