USA World Cup Jerseys

19 November 2009 532 views 6 Comments

The US will dawn throw backs for the 2010 World Cup. The design is inspired by the 1950 US World Cup team which shocked the world by beating England 1-nil in Brazil. That one game is still considered one of the biggest upsets in Cup play and one of the greatest moments for the US national team. The game was labeled the Miracle on Grass by Sports Illustrated. British Newspapers thought the score line was a typo and printed headlines that England had won 10-0. Nike has done an excellent job by keeping it simple and tipping their hat to history. After the 1950 World Cup the US would not qualify again for forty years. So tell us what you think of the 2010 uniforms.

They should go all the way with the throwbacks and wear the old badge too.

I agree the current Us badge is lame. I like the crest with the dont tread on me snake in it.

I like the new jerseys, I guess I am always afraid it could have been worse.

yet another mediocre USA MNT jersey. Either go 100% retro, or don't…half-way = fail

The new jerseys are trash. The red ones are really trash. Why are we trying to look like england out there? Our 1994 world cup jerseys are the best ones we ever had and those weren't too great either.

What are we trying to accomplish with throwback jerseys? Can any of us name one guy from that 1950 team? The 2010 team deserves their own mark, not someone elses.
